Second Chances :: Jun 11, 04:36 PM
Will sat on a rusted park bench, and leaned his walking stick against the armrest. He sighed a deep sigh, the empty sigh of a man whose years had worn away his energy.
“You know,” he said to no one in particular, while staring at his wrinkled hand. “I’m pretty old now. I’ve lived a long life. Done a lot of things.
“But I haven’t done a lot of the things I wanted to. I wish…I wish I had a second chance, to do everything right. To live my life to the fullest.”
Will sighed again. “So many things undone…”
“I can grant your wish,” spoke a deep voice. Will turned around.
A middle-aged man in a dark hood looked back at him. “I can give you your second chance. There’s a catch though.”
“What’s the catch?” Will asked.
“You have to do everything over again. You can’t pick and choose; either live your whole life over again, or live none of it over again. How about it?”
Will thought for a moment. “Nah. Fuck it.”
“Thought as much.”
